Observations
Our brush with the bear last week has definitely made me more observant about our surroundings as we take our walks especially late in the afternoon. I have always been on the look out for snakes and other creepy, crawly wildlife but the bear pretty much snuck up on us. I have learned to pay more attention to Molly's nose and I can tell when she has got her nose firmly wrapped around the scent of something. When Molly stops and sticks that nose straight up in the air, it might as well be a red warning flare that is being lit. She has always been that way but I just always figured it was a rabbit or a squirrel or something non lethal. Not any more. I was amazed at how sneaky such a large animal can be. I need to trust Molly's nose and I should have figured out by now, if it is too quiet, something is going on.
