Listening
When I was out with my late afternoon walk with Molly, I decided to try to listen to nature rather than just watch it. I could hear the gentle crunch of the white gravel under my feet as I walked down the driveway, I could hear Molly panting as she plodded along beside me, and I could hear the birds in the trees, and the crickets chirping in the grass. What I did not hear was civilization as we know it today. I didn't hear any cars, I didn't hear any lawnmowers or leaf blowers, and I did not hear the loudest of all of the animals- people. It was a beautiful and serene walk. It is one Molly and I take every day.
