You Are Going To Have To Trust Me

I had a dream last night (not a Martin Luther King kind of dream) that I really don't remember the point to it or even what is really all about. It was a "man and his dog" adventure kind of dreams. All I remember is that Molly and I were trying to make it back home from wherever we had been and we were really having to hoof it cross country.

We were having to hop on trains and work our way across other obstacles and I really just remember this one scene very clearly. We had to cross this one platform that was way up high and the only way down was to either jump or climb down this rickety ladder. Molly is very afraid of heights and I knew jumping was not an option. I finally decide that the only chance we have is to climb down this ladder. I grabbed the top rung and I looked up at Molly and she was looking down at me with a very doubtful look on her face.

I knew I was going to have to talk her in to it so I braced myself against the ladder and I looked at her and told her "C'mon Molly. This is the only way down. You are going to have to trust me." I grabbed her by the leash and pulled her to me. She fought with me a little bit at first but I told her again "Molly, you are going to have to trust me. We can do this," and with that, I picked her up and held her tight with one arm and worked my way down the ladder with the other arm. As we got closer to the bottom, I felt her relax in my arms because she knew I would do nothing to put her in jeopardy or to hurt her.
