The Dog Days Of Summer
The mountains of Western North Carolina have seen record breaking heat the past three days and poor old Molly is feeling it. The temperature has been hovering around 100 degrees and it is not much cooler in the shade. I am just glad the air conditioner works in my apartment. Molly wanted to go out for a walk this afternoon and I might as well have opened the oven door and Molly and I crawled inside it. Molly usually busts out the door like her fur is on fire but not the past couple of days. There was a cat hiding under a car in the parking lot and Molly didn't pay it any attention at all. Any other day it would have looked like a Sylvester the Cat cartoon with Molly dragging me thru the parking lot chasing this cat. She is much more active early in the morning and early at night but that is to be expected. Molly just hopes that all of the other dogs out there have air conditioning.
