Owning a dog is a responsibility and a privilege but unfortunately, anybody can go get a dog. Nobody usually asks for references, you don't have to take an IQ test, and you get walk right out the door with them to basically do whatever you please.
I really hate to see good dogs go to waste. They are not given any attention, they are turned loose to run the neighborhood and get hurt or get into trouble and the owner thinks they have done nothing wrong. A dog needs love, attention, and a sense of belonging and they don't ask for much.
