I finally figured out this afternoon that Molly can tell who is driving down the road or into my driveway by the way she reacts. If it is someone she knows and likes, she lets out several mini-barks that sound like "wuh, wuh, wuh, wuh" and if they pull in the driveway, she gets really still and listens intently for the car to turn off and the car door to shut signifying that the driver got out of the car. She then pokes her head through the curtains and to she sees them in person and she starts the mini-barks again and running around in circles.
If it is someone she doesn't like, like my family or anybody that works for UPS and drives the big brown truck, she starts barking furiously and immediately runs to the window and lets them hear about it. Not bad for a guard dog.
