I believe God made afternoons like this for a man and his dog. I had an absolutely brutal day at work but it was a beautiful afternoon and Molly was waiting on me when I got home. Molly met me at the barn and I gave her a ride to the house so we could take our afternoon walk. I went in the house and grabbed her official Appalachian State University leash, hooked her up, and away we went. We always start out by walking down to the barn and take it from there.
We find our trail that leads us through the woods and it was such a beautiful afternoon. The temperature was in the low 60's, no breeze to speak of, and crystal clear azure blue skies. There is no better sound in the world than the leaves crunching under your feet and hearing the creek down below. The fall colors are still pretty vibrant and Molly and I always find something new that we have never seen before. We went and checked out the cottage I am going to be moving into and I have such grand plans. I hope Molly makes it long enough to enjoy it.
