Staking Her Claim

Throughout history people have been able to stake their claim to various pieces of land. The Gold Prospectors did it during the Gold Rush and Homesteaders did it in the Midwest after the Homestead Act in the mid-19th century. Dogs also do it but they may take it a little more seriously. I know Molly does and I have the nip marks to prove it. Molly usually stakes her claim in the middle of my bed and dares anyone to move her. If someone tries to move her, then someone is going to bleed and Molly is not particular as to who. Molly draws her line in the sand, circles the wagons, or however you want to phrase it, and that is it. I got nipped the other night when I tried moving her. Molly likes to fire "warning shots." I hate to see what would happen if she was really pissed.
