The Nose Is Still Young
Molly may be getting a little long in the tooth and little gray around the muzzle at 11 1/2 years old but the nose is still as good and as strong as the day she was born with it. Yesterday afternoon, she sniffed out a mole in the grass and happily tried digging him out (her reflexes have slowed just a tad), and last night she sniffed out those two dogs that live upstairs and was ready to take both of them on. Luckily I got her pulled back into the apartment before that happened. The girl that owns the two dogs got them put up before I let Molly back out again, but she went charging down the steps like she was a young pup. She knew every step those dogs had taken and made sure she reclaimed her turf. The nose knows.
