The daily lives of a man and his dog trying to get through each day with as much humor as possible and using each other as a crutch every step of the way

Jumpin' Jack Flash
Molly's new roommate Reba is an escape artist along the lines of a canine Harry Houdini. She has been know to scale a six foot high chain link fence with no problems and our three-and-a-half foot fence poses no problems. I am worried about Reba's health and safety so I stay outside with her when I let her out. She pulled a fast one on me the other day when I stepped back inside for a second and she was over the fence and gone. I went back outside and yelled her name a couple of times. She came sprinting down the street and sailed over the fence without even touching it. I was amazed by her athletic ability but now she is on complete lockdown.

Whoops!
Molly and I have gotten moved into our temporary new residence and we are still getting adjusted. Molly's health is failing fast but she is still moving right along albeit in wide circles. I took her out very early this morning and Molly dropped a massive load right on the walkway that goes around the yard. When it got daylight, I thought it would be in my best interests to scoop that up and dispose of it. My original plan was to scoop it up and toss it into the neighbors yard (in my defense, his flowers did need fertilizing) but my aim wasn't as true as my intention and I tossed a shovelful into the back of my nephew's air conditioner. Whoops! The way his room smells, he may not notice the difference.

Molly On Politics
Molly is not really politically motivated but she does like to see a dog in the Whitehouse. Her favorite was George W. Bush's cocker spaniel Milly. She was very much in the limelight, was a natural in front of the cameras, and a very strong canine presence in the Whitehouse. Neither Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton look like dog people and they had better get one fast if they want mine or Molly's vote.

Happiness
Peanuts creator Charles Schulz once wrote "Happiness is a warm puppy." Saturday me and Molly found ourselves with her two new roommates (four if you include the cats) all alone for the first time. I did not know how it would go. I figured it would be one big brawl or they would all get along. I sat there and watched a football game while all of the dogs and the two cats took a nap. Molly was at my feet, Reba was asleep on the loveseat and Lyla was asleep on the top of the back of the couch. It wasn't quite Norman Rockwell but I will take a nice, peaceful evening with all of the animals over just about anything.

Molly's New Cousins
Life has thrown me another curveball that has led to mine and Molly's latest move. This move will necessitate a slew of changes on mine and Molly's part but we have always adapted before and we will adapt again. This move comes with two dogs and two cats and we had a canine meet and greet yesterday. Her two new housemates are Reba and Lyla. After they sniffed each other out for a while, I decided they were going to get along together or they weren't and after Molly calmed down a little bit, they were all asleep in the living room while I watched football. Not a bad evening.
